Restaurant table with built-in wireless charger

Your customer places their phone on the table, and it charges without needing to ask the server for a cable or outlet. This is a service that more and more restaurants, cafes, and hotels are offering. At Restootab, we manufacture HPL or laminated chipboard tabletops that house integrated induction chargers, known as "Embedded." Here is how it works and why it is a real asset for your establishment.

  • Why offer at-table charging in hospitality businesses?

According to data from the manufacturer of the chargers we use, two out of three customers want to charge their phone in a café, hotel, or restaurant. A customer with a charged battery stays longer, is more likely to order an extra coffee or dessert, and leaves with a positive impression of their visit.

The charger also becomes a differentiating factor. It gets noticed, talked about, and encourages return visits.

    The "Embedded" charger: invisible charging

There are several ways to equip a table. The "On Top" charger sticks onto the tabletop. The "Flat" model is recessed flush with the surface for a perfectly smooth finish. The USB pack attaches under the table without any machining required.

Our specialty is the Embedded model. The antenna is housed in a cavity machined underneath the tabletop. The result: the table retains its original appearance, finish, and material. A simple marking on the surface shows the customer where to place their phone.

This is the ideal solution if you have chosen a sophisticated design (terrazzo, wood, stone, solid colors) and do not want to spoil it with a visible accessory. It is compatible with tabletops from 12 to 80 mm thick.

  • HPL or laminate particleboard: the right material for wireless charging

We have mastered the machining of these two materials, which are standards in professional furniture:

    • HPL (high-pressure laminate) is highly resistant to scratches, impacts, heat, and cleaning products. It is suitable for intensive indoor and outdoor use.
    • Laminate particleboard offers excellent value for money and a very wide range of finishes for large-scale projects.

In both cases, the cavity is precisely machined in our workshop to ensure the antenna is correctly positioned while maintaining the tabletop's structural integrity. You receive a tabletop ready to be equipped, with no on-site work required.

  • What the charger brings to your customers

The battery pack paired with the antennas is designed for the daily life of a hotel, café, or restaurant:

    • Qi2 certified: fast wireless charging, up to 15W with compatible phones, and compatibility with Qi devices.
    • Multi-device: in addition to induction, the case offers a USB-C output (up to 27W) and a USB-A output (up to 18W).
    • Autonomous: no 220V mains connection is needed under the table. The lithium-ion battery offers up to 8 days of battery life.
    • Resistant: waterproof (IP65) and shock-resistant, for both indoor and outdoor use.
    • Anti-theft: the battery can only be removed with a magnetic security key.
    • Simple to operate: one charging tray recharges up to 4 batteries in 3 hours. Your team swaps the batteries, with no cables to manage.

The manufacturer announces an average return on investment in 3 months. This naturally depends on each establishment, and we will discuss this with you during the assessment of your project.

  • FAQ: wireless charger integrated into your tabletop

    • Can a wireless charger be integrated into any tabletop?
In the vast majority of HPL or laminated particleboard tabletops, yes. The Embedded version adapts to thicknesses from 12 to 80 mm. We will verify feasibility with you based on your table model.
    • Does the tabletop retain its original appearance?
Yes. The antenna is housed under the tabletop. Only a small surface marking indicates the charging location.
    • Does the charger work on a terrace?
Yes. The housing is waterproof (IP65) and designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
    • Do the tables need to be connected to electricity?
No. The charger runs on a battery, without a mains connection, which facilitates installation and leaves your table layout flexible.
    • Can it be installed on existing tables?
Depending on the version. The On Top and USB versions can be installed on existing furniture. The Embedded version must be planned during the tabletop manufacturing process, which is why it is best to consult us before placing your table order.
